Aspects of Our Campaign

In Stores

In grocery stores, where a lot of house hold products (cleaning supplies, and other products) are bought we plan to have someone on hand to give away free information and tags with the 6 sins of greenwash written on them. These tags all have a link to the site on them so people know where to go for further information.

As well as the tags, there are pins available either via a handout at certain times, or available for sale (with proceeds going towards furthering campaign goals. There are posters in stores as well with information. We also have a special brand of soap available - to help encourage people to think of the phrase 'Clean up your act!' for purchase and to raise funds for the campaign goals of reaching more people. A lot of the products we have or the information we have is directed towards the goal of increasing awareness, and of making information available through the website for those who are interested enough to seek out further information.

Online

Once that first step of awareness is made, and people who are environmentally conscious (or not!) to start with know that their choices either contribute or not to greenfraud, then the next step can be taken. Products and handouts all carry this website address on them - and people can come here for more information. By coming here and learning more about greenfraud, people are also able to learn about specific products and will change their buying habits accordingly. If enough people do this, it will send a message to those companies that are spending so much money on marketing - that consumers want a product that truly is environmentally friendly, not just seems to be. When companies start to figure this out, then they will change in turn. Its a big goal, but its a start!
