Our Vision

Showcase Canada, Alberta, and Edmonton to the global community by igniting humanity's passion and spirit for excellence in design, learning, cultural exchange, innovation and sustainability − in conjunction with our nation's 150th anniversary.

Our Mission

To create a compelling EXPO that generates excitement, is innovative, explores a theme of significance, engages the community, plans for lasting legacies, and demonstrates commitment to sustainability and inclusiveness − an EXPO in 2017 that wins support within Canada and around the world.

Our Guiding Principles

• We will make the process an inclusive and transparent experience that celebrates our collective pride and recognizes the accomplishments of this pursuit.
• We will build relationships with the community, business and all orders of government as we explore the bid.
• We will manage EXPO funds prudently by being fiscally responsible and accountable in all aspects of our planning and delivery.
• We will be innovative and leading-edge in our planning, and strategically align Edmonton EXPO 2017 with the visions, plans and initiatives of our city, region, province, country.
• We will promote and celebrate our arts, cultures, and diversity.
• We will, as citizens of the global village, create opportunities for social, cultural, environmental, intellectual, and physical legacies that benefit communities, both local and global.
